30 Day Song Challenge Day 5

Today’s prompt is probably one of my favorites: “A song that needs to be played loud.” It makes me want to blast my chosen song loud now, but that would probably be frowned upon at work. And I want to go driving around with it blasting as well. I cannot believe I have been blasting this one for 30 years now.

I cannot believe it has been 30 years since this album came out. Excuse me while I have a moment and feel old.

But damn, does this hold up! And it is still being played widely both for fun on the radio and for making a political point.

Rage was on tour a couple of years ago. I remember sitting with some friends at the pub and they were talking about going and wanted to know who wanted to go. They must not have taken me seriously, because all of a sudden when tickets went on sale, the wife of the one friend [who was sitting right there when I said I wanted to go] announced that she had gotten tickets for the guys to go.

Excuse me, I know I am a female, but that doesn’t mean that I don’t love to rock out to Rage! *sigh*

I was even more bitter about it because the tickets sold out super fast. But then I felt like karma caught up because the pandemic hit and none of them got to go.

Is that mean of me?

This whole album is fantastic. I pretty much wore out my CD back in the day, so I should get another copy, even though I can stream it. It’s just not the same when I’m playing it streaming as opposed to a CD in my car. (Because yes, my car is that old, thanks.)
