UBC: What is your why?

So there is this Ultimate Blogging Challenge happening right now. I did end up signing up for it, but I know I will not be participating every day. I was just hoping for some occasional inspiration to keep the writing wheels greased. The one topic, though, intrigued me and provided some inspiration. “Why do you do what you do?”

I’ve always been an observer. I attribute it to having grown up in Montessori and then a career in Montessori schools. I am constantly watching, conversing, and learning. Ideas are in perpetual motion in my head and sometimes I need to get them out.

I do write a lot. I even do it the old-fashioned way, literally putting pen to paper. I know it might seem tedious to some, but I find it cathartic. Studies recommend doing it to better connect with words and thoughts. Writing out notes may help you better retain new knowledge.

Not everything that I write gets shared, of course. I get myself into enough shitstorms on my Facebook statuses at times. I don’t have the energy to do it here as well. But there is a lot to say and it needs a place to go. I would love to inspire some conversations and reflection in others. More will still come, I promise. And in the meantime, keep an eye on my Facebook page. I share a lot more there.

But first, tell me – what is your why?
